Thrombectomy is a minimally invasive surgery that removes blood clots from the brain using a device that is inserted through an artery and retrieves the clot.
Thrombectomy is a relatively new treatment that can improve stroke outcomes for those patients who would benefit from this treatment and who have access. Thrombectomy improve survival rates and reduce disability for many people with ischaemic stroke caused by large artery blockage.
