Stroke and SDG 3

In 2015 governments around the world committed to a new global blueprint to deliver peace and prosperity for all. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets out a series of development goals which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth. Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) commits governments to taking action to ensure good health and to promote well-being of all people of all ages. Within SDG3 are specific targets related to tackling non-communicable diseases - including stroke - which pose a major challenge to sustainable development in all countries of the world.
