WSO is the only global organisation solely focused on stroke. Through our global member network and partnerships we work to unite the stroke community. Our global and regional events bring our members, partners and stroke stakeholders together to share latest research, exchange best practices, drive improvements and advance the stroke policy agenda.
Our World Congress and Regional Conferences are developed in collaboration with WSO members, governments, regional agencies, NGOs and industry partners. These events provide an important opportunity for all stroke stakeholders to share knowledge and best practice and to build relationships and parrtnerships to help advance the stroke agenda.

The stroke world came together for the 14th World Stroke Congress that took place in Singapore from October 26th – 29th 2022. This was the first in-person gathering after two previous virtual meetings. The Congress was a success, with more than 4,000 participants from all corners of the world.
Delegates and organizers were glad to see 4,445 in-total registered attendees onsite and online from around the world – we enjoyed having stroke specialists from China, Singapore, Indonesia, the United States, Australia, Ukraine, India, the Philippines, South Korea, Germany, the UK, Thailand and many more – 104 overall!
The WSO Congress has held as a virtual meeting with a focus on live interactive elements on 28-29 October 2021 and was organized by a program committee representing various continents around the world. The Congress took place in coordination with the International Symposium on Thrombolysis, Thrombectomy and Acute Stroke Therapy in Amsterdam and also with a “RAISE” formatted meeting on Stroke Prevention in the United States. Speakers from both conferences was presenting at the WSO Congress.
ESO-WSO 2020 in Vienna looks set to be the world's biggest stroke conference to date. Providing a platform for presentation of major clinical trials, space for debates and controversies sessions, as well as a packed scientific programme and scientific communications of the latest research. We expect over 2000 abstract submissions. There will also be an ‘allied health professionals’ strand ensuring there is something for everyone working in stroke care and research.
WSO organizes regular engagement events in each of our global regions. These are usually developed in partnership with our regional and national members.
