On the occasion of World Stroke Day 2024, the Department of Neurological Physiotherapy, Saveetha College of Physiotherapy, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. proudly presents a comprehensive educational event series under the theme of #GreaterThan Stroke, endorsed by the World Stroke Organization. This initiative will feature a Webinar, Guest Lecture, and PG Symposium, scheduled for November 7th and 11th, 2024, and is exclusively open to BPT Interns and MPT students. The Webinar will be delivered by Prabhat Ranjan, BPT, MPT, (PhD), a distinguished Physiotherapist from the Department of Neurology, AIIMS, New Delhi, offering critical insights into the physiotherapeutic management of stroke. The Guest Lecture will be led by Dr. M. Nirumal Khumar, M.D., D.M. (Neurology), DrNB (Neurology), FEBN, Assistant Professor at Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Chennai, who will share the latest advances in neurological research and stroke treatment. The PG Symposium will be expertly moderated by Dr. Kumaresan Abathsagayam, MPT (Neuro), PhD, HOD & Professor at the Department of Physiotherapy, St Johns Medical College, Bengaluru, fostering in-depth academic discussions. Chaired by Dr. Prathap Suganthirababu (Principal) and coordinated by Dr. Vanitha Jayaraj, alongside the dedicated team from SCPT's neurological physiotherapy department (Dr. Vignesh Srinivasan, Dr. Priyadharshini, Dr. Dhanusia, Dr. Sathyasiva, and Dr. Santhanalakshmi), this event emphasizes the critical importance of awareness, education, and innovation in the fight against stroke. The gathering aims to empower future physiotherapists with advanced knowledge and collaborative skills to better serve patients, contributing to the global effort of minimizing stroke’s impact on society.
