World Stroke Day 2021: Panel Discussion Stroke Survivors and Civil Society engagement India for review and strengthening of existing National Stroke guidelines from patient’s perspective We have recently conducted series of regional consultations with various stakeholders in four regions(North, south, east, and west) as well as individual stakeholders and patients adcocates. The experts from various stroke ecosystems brainstormed over the various nuances of stroke patient journey from prevention to rehab and palliative care along with the key challenges and issues faced by patients in stroke care as well as solutions to overcome these challenges. Some of the biggest gaps identified are the lack of a robust referral pathway, a strong and resilient primary healthcare, and a missing care- continuum structure and process. The key areas identified will be further discussed in the National consultation on the occasion of World Stroke day, 28th October as a two-panel format with a wider representation of stakeholders and patients advocates.
