Ithaca is joining in the observance of World Stroke Day, October 29, 2023! In recognition of World Stroke Day, BIANYS is joining community members in hosting an information table at Tompkins County Public Library, October 29, 1:30 to 4:30. Stroke is the leading cause of disability worldwide and one of the leading causes of disability and death in the US. Every 40 seconds someone in the US suffers a stroke and every 4 minutes someone dies. And yet up to 90% of strokes are preventable. Come learn about stroke and help us get out the word about risks and prevention.
