Stroke Action Nigeria is collaborating with the NCD Team at the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, Nigeria to promote State Based events on World Stroke Day called the Nigeria Stroke Assembly. The events will be organized by Stroke Champions already trained by Stroke Action Nigeria in Anambra State and Delta State, to reduce the burden of strokes in the country,. The Stroke Champions training was provided in collaboration with the World Stroke Organization - MERZ - Stroke Action Partnership in February 2025. The Stroke Champions will hold events at two sites in Delta State: Federal Medical Centre Asaba and Asaba Specialist Hospital. The Stroke Assembly will provide a forum for raising awareness of stroke, stroke symptom recognition and how to #Act Fast when a stroke hapens. The Life After Stroke centre (LASC) established at the FMC Asaba through the WSO-MERZ Partnership will also be launched on this WSD 2025.
