Guiding Light for The THAIS; The 9th Walk Run Bike Fighting Stroke Honouring His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn is a running event organized in every province of Thailand on 29th October 2023. This event is organized for three purposes; to honour His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, to increase stroke awareness of Thai people by joining our running event and to gather funding for stroke service. Under the cooperation of five Ministries which are comprised of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, our events will have around 300 thousand participants this year. In addition to normal runners, this year our running event’s theme is “Young Thais Fight Stroke” which includes young people's participation. We can include around 15,000 youth who are 16-24 years old to join the running event and create the content to provide stroke knowledge in every province. Moreover, our event can raise funds to 2 million USD and this fund will provided to each province for the improvement of health services including stroke services. In addition to running the campaign, from 24th to 29th October 2023, there will be activities or exhibitions to contribute stroke knowledge to everyone. The pattern of the activity depends on each province and at Siriraj Hospital it is stage shows such as singing and rap shows, clip videos, talk shows, and exercise activities to convince people to change their lives for the prevention of stroke. Eventually, our event will augment awareness of stroke in every generation, change their lives much healthier, and improve the stroke service in all provinces of Thailand.
