In order to promote the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, popularize the knowledge of stroke prevention and control, and further improve the health awareness of the residents in the jurisdiction, as the representative of the volunteer hospital of the Red Bracelet in Beijing, the Department of Neurology, Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences（CAMS） on behalf of the Secretariat of Chinese Stroke Association, carried out a "World Stroke Day 2022" theme popular science volunteer activity, and organized online case discussion and exchange activities in the field of Neurology on October 28th , 2022. On the morning of October 28th, Shujuan Li, supervisor of the first board of supervisors of Chinese Stroke Association and director of the Department of Neurology of Fuwai Hospital, led the Red Bracelet volunteer doctors and nurses from her department to hold a free clinic on the second floor of the outpatient clinic of Fuwai Hospital. On-site services such as blood pressure measurement, health consultation are provided, and the "Knowledge Manual for Stroke Patients" provided by the Secretariat of Chinese Stroke Association is presented. There is an endless stream of patients and their medical escorts who come to consult. Every Red Bracelet volunteer doctor or nurse has carefully inquired about the patients, patiently answered various doubts and questions raised by the patients. Volunteers also gave comprehensive treatment guidance on rehabilitation and other aspects. Fuwai Hospital is home to the National Cardiovascular Center, State Key Laboratory of Cardiovascular Diseases, and National Clinical Research Center for Cardiovascular Diseases. Through free clinics, Red Bracelet volunteers from the Department of Neurology of Fuwai Hospital communicated with patients and escorts at zero distance , not only publicizing the causes, prevention, early symptoms, first aid treatment, rehabilitation and other aspects of popular science knowledge of cerebrovascular disease , and also combined with the characteristics of the hospital's cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment, and spread the concept of "heart-brain joint, joint prevention and joint treatment" to the participating people. This free clinic activity focuses on the rapid identification of early symptoms of stroke, so that the participants can fully realize that time is life, and it is extremely important to detect early symptoms of stroke in time. The earlier the detection and treatment, the better the effect. The health consultation of nearly two hours solved some of the confusion in the hearts of the visiting people, and also received written thanks from some of the people who consulted. On the afternoon of October 28th, Fuwai Hospital, together with the Youth Council of Chinese Stroke Association, invited some experts in the field of neurology in Beijing, they launched an online academic exchange meeting themed "Heart-brain joint talks about stroke, young experts in action". This meeting the invited experts had a full discussion and academic exchange on the cases shared by the three young doctors of Fuwai hospital. This event has received extensive attention from colleagues in the field of neurology in China, with more than 25,000 online participants. Through the exchange of this academic meeting, more clinicians have realized the necessity of treating stroke patients with the same heart and brain and prevention strategies. It provides valuable experience and ideas for future clinical diagnosis and treatment.
