Since the launch of the new certification platform in May 2025, more than 200 hospitals from 26 countries have registered and begun their certification journey, reflecting growing commitment to standardized, evidence-based stroke care.
Last month, three additional hospitals achieved WSO certification:
- The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China – Advanced Stroke Centre
- Siloam Hospitals Dhirga Surya, Medan, Indonesia – Advanced Stroke Centre
- Al Badie Clinic, Fez, Morocco – Essential Stroke Centre and the first certified stroke centre in Morocco
A major milestone this month is the national roll-out of the NABH–WSO Joint Stroke Centre Certification Programme in India. Building on the collaboration between the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) and WSO, hospitals across India can now apply for certification through a structured pathway aligned with both national and international stroke standards.
To support the roll-out, NABH and WSO will host an introductory webinar on 18 June 2026 for hospitals and healthcare professionals across India, providing an overview of the certification standards, assessment process, and certification pathway.
Whether public or private, large or small, hospitals providing stroke care are encouraged to begin their certification journey and use internationally recognized standards to standardize stroke services, strengthen systems of care, and improve patient outcomes.
