A landmark step for stroke care was taken this month with the signing of an MoU between the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR) to standardize stroke care in Egypt.
Meanwhile, the WSO Certification program continues to expand globally on its new platform, with hospitals from 17 countries and 34 hospitals now engaged in the certification journey. This reflects the growing recognition of WSO Certification as the trusted framework for improving stroke care quality worldwide.
At the heart of WSO Certification is not just recognition, it’s transformation. The process helps hospitals identify gaps, motivates teams to work toward best practices, and prepares them for certification readiness. By doing so, hospitals build stronger systems, improve patient outcomes, and raise the bar for stroke care in their regions.
WSO Certification also provides a pathway for health systems and policymakers to:
• Benchmark against global standards.
• Drive nationwide improvements in stroke care pathways.
• Recognize and support centers of excellence.
We encourage hospitals, national societies, and policymakers everywhere to adopt international evidence based, data driven, WSO Certification, and be part of this growing movement to improve lives through better stroke care.
