On World Health Day, April 7, 2026, The World Stroke Organization (WSO)–convened Global Stroke Action Coalition (GSAC) launched a three-phase advocacy campaign to build support for the first-ever World Health Assembly (WHA) resolution on stroke.
Throughout the campaign, the Coalition has evolved its messaging from 2025's "Every minute counts" to 2026's powerful call to action: "The time is now", capturing the crucial momentum building toward the resolution. The #StrokeActionNow remains consistent, with a refreshed visual identity, maintaining continuity and recognition across all advocacy efforts.
Phase 1: Preparing the environment
The first phase focuses on preparing the global environment ahead of the 79th WHA in May. Targeting policymakers and key decision-makers, this phase of the campaign consists of two strategic pushes:
Push 1: The opportunity
This push introduces the campaign…

… and highlights the potential of coordinated global action on stroke and the historic significance of a standalone resolution.

Push 2: The Return
This push demonstrates the cost of inaction, showcases the return on investment in stroke prevention and care, and reinforces the urgent moment for action.
Phase 1 will culminate in a compiled video featuring testimonies from clinicians, stroke survivors, and policymakers—demonstrating why the time for global stroke action is now.
