WSO, in collaboration with RES-Q and the European Stroke Organisation (ESO), convened a global webinar as part of the Activate Quality campaign, highlighting how structured quality monitoring can drive measurable improvements in stroke care.
The webinar saw strong global engagement, with over 270 registrations and more than 130 participants joining from 60+ countries.
Chaired by Natan Bornstein, the session brought together international experts to explore how data can be translated into action. Discussions highlighted the importance of systematic measurement, the role of RES-Q in supporting quality improvement, and real-world examples from the Philippines, South Africa, Latin America, and Europe demonstrating how data is being used to strengthen stroke systems.
The session reinforced that quality monitoring is a continuous process, enabling hospitals and health systems to benchmark performance, identify gaps, and drive sustained improvement.
Looking ahead, ongoing advancements through the EU-funded RES-Q+ project, where WSO is a dissemination partner, are focused on automating audit and feedback and developing virtual tools to support patient follow-up and long-term stroke care.
As part of this global effort, March and September serve as key data collection periods, supporting more comprehensive and representative insights at national and global levels.
Hospitals are encouraged to embed quality monitoring into routine practice and take the next step towards pursuing certification, advancing standardized, evidence-based stroke care.
