WSO is a global partner in the NCD Alliance, a global civil society network comprised of organizations and individuals who are committed to the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. We work together to call for investment and policy action that will address risk factors for NCDs, including stroke and work to bring attention to stroke as one of the most significant contributors to the global NCD burden.
In 2022 NCD Alliance, World Stroke Organization and American Stroke Association published an updated policy brief, Acting on Stroke and NCDs: Preventing and Responding to stroke to work towards Universal Health Coverage. This publication focuses on stroke as a major contributor to the increasing burden of NCDs and the urgent need to implement effective, affordable and widely applicable strategies to prevent and treat stroke.
