The training institution should commit to provide a minimum of 1 year, ideally 2 years of formal neurointerventional training with extensive hands-on experience. A memorandum of understanding agreement will be created and signed by the training institution and the WSO.

- Must have an adequate case volume to fulfill the fellowship requirements:

- Must include an educational environment with exposure to neurosurgery, neuroradiology, vascular neurology, neurocritical care, and advanced neuroimaging
- Must have at least one dedicated neuroendovascular suite
- Must have a neurocritical care unit (NICU) or dedicated NICU beds in a general ICU
- Must be hospital-based to provide adequate inpatient and outpatient care, emergency services, and neurointensive care
- Must have a peer-review process to identify and review procedural complications and discussion in a multidisciplinary fashion
An institution that does not meet the required numbers for specific procedures is encouraged to find partnership and collaboration with other programs/institutions to offer the fellow the required training exposure. If this is the case, please add an additional statement with the details of such collaborations.
The WSO Fellowship Board will determine the adequacy of these facilities to participate as fellowship sites.
