This year on October 29th the global stroke community came together to raise awareness of stroke and share a message that every minute counts and we need to #ActFAST.
As the Campaign Team continues work on the full evaluation of this year’s Every Minute Counts campaign, we are pleased to share some initial results that highlight the incredible reach and engagement achieved around the world.
Early social media and engagement highlights include:
101 million campaign views across social media platforms
Over 2 million views of the Every Minute Counts campaign video
150 events registered on the Global Map of Action
These results reflect the dedication of our global community of advocates, healthcare professionals, support organizations, and individuals affected by stroke who have worked together to raise awareness and drive meaningful action.
If you organized a World Stroke Day activity but haven’t yet registered it, there is still time. Adding your event to the Global Map of Action only takes a few minutes and plays a crucial role in demonstrating the global reach and local impact of our shared efforts.
This year, all registered organizers will receive a downloadable participation certificate recognizing their contribution to the Every Minute Counts campaign.
We also invite you to share your reports, photos, and stories to support the campaign report and feature in future WSO communications. Please send any materials to awiseman@world-stroke.org
Applications are now open for the 2025 World Stroke Campaign Awards, which recognize outstanding activities that raise awareness, mobilize communities, and inspire action on stroke prevention, treatment, and support.
Awards are available in three categories:
Best Campaign in a High-Income Country
Best Campaign in a Low- or Middle-Income Country
Individual Achievement Award
Award winners will have their work profiled in the WSO Annual Report and will receive either a WSO Membership (Individual or LMIC Society) or complimentary registration for the World Stroke Congress 2026.
Full entry guidelines and application details are available on the campaign website.
Thank you once again to everyone who has contributed their voice, energy, and commitment to World Stroke Day. Together, we are sending the message around the world: Every minute counts. Every action counts.
