On September 24th, ahead of the UN meeting, Global Stroke Action Coalition partners, goverment leaders, financing institutions and civil society leaders will for a Minsterial policy roundtable This meeting will set out the global burden of stroke and explore the impact of national stroke action plans, financing and socioeconomic implications of stroke. Reecent innovation in stroke diagnosis and treatment and recovery will be shared and highlighted as ways goverments can acccelerate progress on NCDs. With gains to be made across the care pathway, and opportunities for significant progress in every resource setting, the event will highight the potential to reduce the burden of stroke in health systems around the world. The roundtable dialogue aims to support prioritization of stroke care in the NCD agenda and the UN Political Declaration, by supporting country-led efforts in taking action on stroke. Four Ministers of Health are confirmed as speakers (Argentina, Egypt, Dominican Republic and Uganda) and other ministerial representatives have confirmed participation, alongside financing institutions, civil society leaders and industy. Once you have endorsed the Call to Action on the website, we would encourage you to share the Stroke Action Now policy brief with your Ministry of Health along with a clear call to improve their stroke response through the implementation of National Stroke Action Plans that address stroke prevention, treatment and rehabilitation priorities.
