As one of the largest member committees from the global stroke network, Chinese Stroke Association (CSA) keeps working together with the World Stroke Organisation (WSO). CSA launches the theme of ‘Integration of Medical and Movement to Prevent Stroke" in China during the ‘World Stroke Day 2020’.
In July 2019, the State Council's Opinions on the Implementation of the Healthy China Initiative was issued, which clearly stated that a disease management and health service model combining movement & medical should be promoted. All sectors of society should actively respond to the Health China Action Plan, contribute to the joint of movement & medical, and promote the public health level. Among the major diseases affecting the health of the Chinese people, stroke is the main cause of death and disability. It has become the consensus of the international community to mobilize the whole people to deal with the burden of disease caused by stroke. The annual World Stroke Day campaign is a great opportunity for international and national mobilization. The theme of this year's World Stroke Day is "Joint the Movement, Free from Stroke", which coincides with the Healthy China Action Plan. It is the call of the World Stroke Organization and the request of the Chinese government to promote the participation of sports and national fitness in the campaign to prevent stroke. The "World Stroke Day" campaign calls on all sectors of society to participate in "Joint the movement " and take concrete actions to promote the realization of the dream of a healthy China.
Cooperate with National Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention & Treatment Research Office, Beijing TV Station, Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, Beijing Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Control Office and Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Chinese Stroke Association sponsors a public healthcare propagation activity in Beijing on Oct.29th. This activity is aimed to contribute towards the “Healthy China initiatives”, cardiovascular & cerebrovascular diseases treatment and prevention initiatives, development of public healthcare knowledge education and propagation; advocating scientific concept of ‘Health & Wellness’ with profound integration of medical science and sports activities, and evidence-based public healthcare education; It is also contribute promoting innovative disease management models and extending the ‘Red Bracelet Volunteers’ initiatives with efficient combination of online and on site activities.
In the activity, the "Health & Wellness" joint project officially launched by the Chinese Stroke Association and Beijing Television. The program of "Health & Wellness" is presented in the form of micro-documentary. Through scientific, rigorous, professional and innovative content, presenting the integration of medical & movement sciences from a new perspective, and bringing great health achievement based on public health publication.
The "Red Bracelet Club", a new public platform for stroke prevention and management based on the Red Bracelet Volunteer Service Group of Chinese Stroke Association, is also launched on the same day. "Red Bracelet Club" will closely integrate online and offline management, expand the functions to provide a professional public health consultation and education, regarding risk factor control and disease management.
During the "World Stroke Day" campaign, Chinese Stroke Association also calls for "red bracelet volunteers corps" units & individuals, China Stroke Center Alliance committee members, specialized branches members of CSA, the provincial stroke associations to carry out plenty and featured activities focus on stroke prevention and treatment to public. On 29th Oct.2020, professional neurologists, nurses and “red bracelet” volunteers provide health consultation and professional guidance to the public at outpatient clinic in Beijing Tiantan Hospital, China.
On the same day, the world Stroke Day series of activities are also be carried out in different cities and local hospitals across the country.
