Dr. Meron A. Gebrewold is a Female Neurologist with a rank of an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Department of Neurology, College of Health Sciences (CHS), Addis Ababa University (AAU), Ethiopia. The only University in the country where Neurology Discipline is offered as a Specialty Training. There she serves as a teacher and mentor to post graduate and undergraduate students attaching in the Department. And is also a research advisor to students.

She is the clinical service coordinator for the Neurology service in the teaching hospital of the University Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital (TASH), which stands as the largest referral Hospital in the nation with eight-hundred-bed capacity. She is currently conducting a mentored research entitled “Assessment of the Quality of Stroke Care in TASH, a National Institute of Health (NIH)Fogarty International funded project. She has published three original articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has won two thematic grants offered by the University. Dr Meron is the Secretary for the Association of Ethiopian Neurologists and has played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Multiple Sclerosis Patient Support Organization in Ethiopia and continues to provide her professional support to the Organization. She has recently been appointed as a secretary for the Board of Exam Committee for Entrance Examination into School Medicine of CHS, AAU. She is a mother of two.
