Member Bio

I am an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Training: My medical training started in 2006 when I joined Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore for my MBBS. Thereafter, I did my MD in Internal Medicine at Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra and DM in Neurology at AIIMS, New Delhi.

Research areas: Deeply interested in post stroke epilepsy, primary central nervous system vasculitis and neuroprotection in stroke, apart from stroke and its care in general.

Awards: Best outgoing neurology resident in 2019, young investigator award from WSO in 2018 and 2022.

Professional: I am actively involved in clinical neurology and research for the past few years and I love to teach. My aim is to be able to increase stroke awareness to the point where people rush to the hospital immediately upon having a neurological deficit. I am also a blogger for Stroke journal for 2021-23.

Publications: Have published 50+ papers in PubMed indexed national and international journals including a randomised controlled trial on Citicoline use in hyperacute ischemic stroke and the largest cohort of PCNSV from India (third largest in the World).

In Private: I am always having a bad hair day and am an avid sports fan (watch better than I play): India, Roger Federer, Manchester United, Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso. Animals and the people I love are my soft spot.
