World Stroke Congresses

WSO organize World Stroke Congresses.
Starting from 2008, World Stroke Congresses will be held every 2 years. Congress sites are selected taking three continents’ rotation into consideration.

Next congresses:

• 6th World Stroke Congress
  September 24-27, 2008 – Vienna, Austria
  WSO Members get a reduced registration fee (-€140)!
  
  
• 7th World Stroke Congress
  2010 – Seoul, Korea

In the past:
World Stroke Congresses were convened every 4 years.
Congress sites during the past 15 years were Kyoto, Japan (1989), Washington, D.C., USA (1992), Munich, Germany (1996), Melbourne, Australia (2000), and Vancouver, Canada (2004). The Joint World Congress on Stroke, co-organized with the Mediterranean Stroke Society and the Southern African Stroke Foundation, was held in Cape Town, South Africa, in October 2006.

WSO organized the 2nd Helsingborg Consensus Conference “European Stroke Strategies” (March 2006)in collaboration with WHO-Europe, the International Society of Internal Medicine (ISIM) and the European Stroke Council (ESC).
