Officers are elected by the Board of Directors. Each member of the Board of Directors have one vote (that is, ranking the top three candidates) for each open position.
The Officers shall include the President, two Vice-Presidents (of whom one is elected by Organizational members), Immediate Past-President (automatically elected to the Board), Secretary, Treasurer, President-Elect and two Members-at-Large. Only those current members of the Board can be nominated as Officers. All Officers shall serve a four year term.
Elections will proceed in the following steps:
1. Call for Nominations
Call for Nominations of Officers will be sent to new Board members by email.
Timing: July 9 to July 30, 2008
2. Selection of the slate of candidates
The Nomination Committee will make a list of validated candidates.
Timing: Aug 1 to August 17, 2008
3. Final ballots (Elections)

A list of all candidates per position will be sent by email to Board members. |

Voting Board Members will be able to rank (order in preference) their preferred 3 candidates for each position. |

A minimum of two-thirds of the Board Members must have submitted their preference prior to the closing of the ballot for the election to be valid. |

A report of votes will be sent to the Nominations Committee who will count the votes and give the final results. |
Timing: August 17 to August 31, 2008
The Committee will validate the election and inform the successful candidates.
Timing: September 3 to September 17, 2008
The list of elected Officers will be sent to all Board Members and will be available on WSO website.
Timing: September 17
The Election of Board members and the Executive Committee members will be approved during the General Assembly that will be held during the congress in Vienna (September 22-27, 2008). |
